“My Peace of it All” Sand’s horizon meeting sky’s. Just me, Gini By Robert Waghorn Kaplan
. Hello, my faithful readers! Are you at peace today? Can you be still, and know that all is well? I think I can guess your answer — “Well, if everything would ever get alright, then maybe I could be still…and relax for once!” Ah-h, but perhaps there’s a better, ‘higher’ way to think: Like, I’ve got hands to use and legs to walk with; so I will be still and see if everything can “get” well….[that way, we’re not giving life an ultimatum]. I look at nature — (and, no, I’m not talking about our pet dog(s) or cats)! I’m seeing that the sand is relatively still ; and the tree’s aren’t beating each other up, just because one has leaves and the other has needles (!) And the sea otter shown here, I have seen at the at The Oregon Coast Aquarium, in Newport, OR. They do clever things with their front paws, like crack open shellfish. And under the water, they are as fast as jets! We’ve really messed up their natural home, the Ocean, in many ways . Yet look at this guy, he’s at ease for the moment.
My last thought is that when we are still and ‘at peace’, we actually see fine and beautiful things better, and are more satisfied for having done so. So see some beauty now, and take one piece of it home with you! Peace & sunshine to you! Gini
